EVENTS DIARY

Our monthly meetings are held in the Camden Centre, Market Square usually starting at 2.30pm, but members need to arrive before then. The Camden Centre has a hearing loop for the benefit of members who wear hearing aids. For a location map and satellite view of Market Square click Market Square Map. Members have an opportunity to socialise over refreshments following the speaker.
We have an active Outings Committee that runs about 10 outings per year. Details of forthcoming events are featured in our monthly newsletter and application forms for the outings can usually be found at the end of the newsletter.

Virtual talks and walks have been arranged and are shown below. They are on Zoom. The talks are free and the walks cost £5 each. If you haven't yet joined the groups, please email Sue Brimlow to join. Talks start at 2.30pm whilst walks/tours vary between morning and afternoon.

3rd (Thurs) Virtual talk - Anna Spender, Collections and Assets Manager at Tunbridge Wells Museum, will give the fascinating history of the ‘Georgian Court Dress’. We are raising funds to go towards its conservation.
8th (Tues) Virtual walk - National Gallery Highlights Paintings by British Masters at 2.30pm. Cost £5.

17th (Thurs) Virtual talk by Pete Allen ‘Oh No It Isn’t: A History of Pantomime’ What is it about Pantomime that attracts us to this strange concoction of fairy tales, dance, jokes, songs and cross-dressing? And what is it really like to play the back end of a Pantomime Cow? All this, and the answer to whether something really is behind you will be answered in this festive talk about what has become one of the great British Christmas traditions.
