UK AND REGIONAL NEWS
The u3a is a UK-wide movement and, although each u3a is run independently, we are members of the Third Age Trust and abide by their guiding principles. Membership is open to all. There is no age limit but members are mainly no longer in full-time employment. Learning, in its widest sense, is sought for its own sake and members form groups in order to share their interests and expertise. By the members for the members - no qualifications are sought or offered and no payments are made to members for any services.
More details about the u3a movement can be found on the u3a website. Our members are entitled to the many services which are offered by the u3a Office, which can be accessed by signing in to the members’ section of the same website. These include Special Events, Online Lectures, Online Tutorials, Quizzes, Subject Advice, Resources and more. Full details can also be obtained by signing up to the u3a Office monthly newsletter. There are so many interesting things to discover here and the site is well worth exploring.
For administrative purposes u3as across the UK are divided into regions and twu3a belongs to the South East Region (SER). Please see the SER website for more information.
We also belong to the u3a Kent Network which meets regularly to keep local u3as in touch with each other. The Kent Network website also contains interesting information and links to things to do on the u3a Office website.
